The Docks are along the Sacramento River (or maybe it’s the American River) and are serviced by a local out-and-back from the Old Town Yard, usually with a caboose and 8 setouts and 8 pickups. Industries include Loy’s Toys, Valley Shipping, Tropansky Transfer, Story’s Store, Durham Hardware & Iron, Inland Cement, G.E. Ruckerman, Jorgensen’s Steel, Dock 5, Dock 6, Dock 7, and Borden’s, with a total of 27 spots.  

During 4 interchange operation, this area is the responsibility of the Western Pacific.  One WP employee switches the Docks and the Old Town Yard west end (includes the team track and RIP track) while the other services Marysville.  Frequently the Docks operator gets stuck and must call his buddy in Marysville for advice.  Unfortunately, his buddy doesn’t know he’s calling because cell phones haven’t been invented yet.
