It is with heavy hearts we announce
the passing or our friend Ed Abbott. Ed was one of those
rare guys, who graced us with humor, a poke of good natured fun, but
blessed us with his wonderful friendships. Ed had a
BIG heart! Ed was our "go to" guy for motive power and
especially decoder installation. He openly shared with all of us,
taking us under wing to show us how to fix locomotives, as well as just
doing a lot of them for all of us in NWA. He was
a superb modeler, as you can easily see with his Milwaukee Road.
Ed was also a great railroad historian. He share with us how
the real railroads really ran, first hand knowledge from all his years
on the Milwaukee Road. He always made us laugh. Ed has left
friends all over the country. You never fill voids like Ed has
left, but just go on like he would want us all to do. We
will miss him greatly!
